Breakfasts
One of the most common remarks in our visitors’ book is that we provide a brilliant breakfast – and we think it is one of the most important features of a stay at Durham House.
We not only use top quality local produce but cook it with a strong emphasis on healthy eating.
Our breakfast menu consists of the following:
- FRUIT JUICE: Orange, apple, grapefruit or cranberry
- STARTER:
- Fruit: Fresh melon slice or grapefruit segments
- Yoghurt: Fruit or natural
- Cereal: Cornflakes, Rice Krispies, Weetabix or muesli
- MAIN COURSE:
- English: Crispy smoked bacon, pork sausage, hash brown, free-range egg, grilled tomato and sauteed mushrooms
- Vegetarian: Free-range scrambled egg, hash brown, grilled tomato, baked beans and sauteed mushrooms
- Continental: Oven-warmed croissants with home made fresh fruit preserve.
- Cinnamon French Toast: French toast-style cinnamon muffins served with fresh fruit and maple syrup.
- Eggs Benedict: Free range poached eggs and crispy smoked bacon on a toasted muffin with creamy hollandaise sauce.
All breakfasts are served with a selection of white and wholemeal toast, as well as a selection of coffees, including filter, hot chocolate or a choice of different teas.
